  • 01. Introduction

    Multimoto Motor Portugal S.A, as part of its business activity, needs to collect some personal data from its customers, however, it respects the right to privacy and does not collect any personal information without prior consent of its customers, except to comply with legal obligations.

    On the other hand, the increasing interaction of our customers through our website or e-commerce platform also requires, in some cases, the collection of personal information of the user, or in other cases, to improve the performance of navigation on our website, the collection of data from your computer through small files commonly known as cookies.

    Multimoto's Privacy & Cookies Policy serves for a clear understanding of how we collect, use, share and protect our customers' personal data when they use our services or visit our website.


    Multimoto does not commercialize customers or users personal data being the same stored internally or in platforms managed by us in our own servers.


    Multimoto Motor Portugal, SA controls personal data collected through the website. We respect the privacy of each user that visits the website and do not share personal information with companies, entities and individuals external to Multimoto.

  • 02. Responsibility for the collection and processing of personal data

    Your data will be collected and processed by Multimoto Motor Portugal S.A., legal entity number 502 425 717, with registered office at Rua Joaquim da Silva Landeau, Zona Industrial de Oliveira de Azeméis, 3720-917 Oliveira de Azeméis, hereinafter Multimoto. This is the company responsible for the processing of personal data according to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (hereinafter RGPD).

  • 03. Processing and revision

    By providing your personal data to Multimoto, the customer acknowledges and consents that it will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and with the rules and principles contained in the respective terms and conditions of the services used. To this extent, and with regard to the processing of personal data, the customer should read this Privacy and Cookies Policy together with the General Terms and Conditions of Use.


    Please be advised that we will amend this Privacy and Cookies Policy whenever necessary without the need for any prior consent.

  • 04. What are personal data?

    Any information, of any nature and regardless of its support, concerning a directly or indirectly identified or identifiable natural person (data subject).
  • 05. What personal data is collected and processed?

    The personal data collected by Multimoto is limited to those strictly necessary for the purpose of the treatment, namely name, address, taxpayer number, telephone number or e-mail, but other data necessary for the supply of products or services may be collected.
  • 06. When and for what purpose do we collect personal data?

    The personal data we collect from our customers is requested when making a purchase or ordering products or services at our facilities, on our website or e-commerce platform when creating customer registration.

    Some of the personal data is mandatory for compliance with legal obligations. Multimoto will inform you of this obligation. The provision of incorrect or inaccurate data is the sole responsibility of the customer holder.


    The collection and treatment of personal data by Multimoto has the following purposes (I) Customer management, (II) Marketing, (III) Technical communications, (IV) Video surveillance and (V) Recruitment, as detailed below:
    (I) : Customer Management, since Multimoto is dedicated to the importation and sale of motorcycles and accessories, and also to the rendering of services related with them, such as their transport and repair, to fulfill the purchase and sale contract or the rendering of services to be celebrated or to carry out pre-contractual diligences at the customer's request, such as budgets or for the celebration of credit contracts for the acquisition of goods by Multimoto commercialized or for the issuing of registration plates, personal data will be requested in the several forms necessary to the accomplishment of the processes as well as copies of identification documents may be necessary for the fulfillment of legal obligations.
    Your data will be kept for the period required by law depending on the process in question.

    (II): Marketing, Multimoto may process the personal data collected to send the respective holder information about products and services marketed by it. This processing of personal data will only be carried out with the express consent of the data subject, particularly when creating a customer form on our website or e-commerce platform or when subscribing to our newsletter.
    Multimoto does not share your personal data with third parties such as social networks like Facebook.
    Personal data collected for this purpose are kept for two years of inactivity.

    (III): Technical Communications, Multimoto will use your contact details to inform you if there is any technical communication related to the product(s) purchased that may jeopardize the safety of the purchaser of the equipment. This process is commonly known as a "Recall".

    (IV): Video surveillance, Multimoto stores have a video surveillance system, properly signaled. The installation of this system results from the Private Security Law (Law No. 34/2013 of May 16, art. 8.2) and is a legal obligation aimed at protecting people and property. The image recordings obtained by video surveillance systems are kept in a coded record for a period of 30 days from their capture, after which they are destroyed (without prejudice if kept for a longer period in the event of legal proceedings).

    (V): Recruitment, Multimoto, during the process of personnel selection and recruitment, collects and processes personal data of the respective candidates. The personal data of any candidate will be kept for 6 months, even if the position for which he/she applied has already been filled.

    The personal data collected will also be processed to answer questions, suggestions or complaints submitted by the respective holder to Multimoto.

  • 07. Sharing or transfer of personal data

    The personal data collected by Multimoto may be hosted, shared and communicated to other companies of the corporate group that Multimoto and the brands it represents, for warranty procedures or to provide clarifications to questions asked by the data subject.

    Multimoto may use subcontractors for all or part of the purposes identified above, as well as for the maintenance, hosting and management of its computer systems and equipment, under the terms allowed by the legislation that regulates the treatment of personal data, being these entities obliged to keep secrecy and guarantee the security of the personal data to which, for this purpose, they have access, not using these data for any other purposes or in their own benefit, nor relate them to other data they possess.

    The personal data may also be made available to the courts and other competent authorities, in strict compliance with the law.

    The personal data collected by Multimoto will be treated within the European Union.
  • 08. Period of retention of personal data

    Multimoto keeps personal data during the retention periods identified above and only for the period of time necessary, or for the fulfillment of obligations to which it is subject by law. In any case, once the relationship with the holders of personal data is terminated, these data will no longer be processed for commercial purposes.
  • 09. Security and confidentiality of personal data

    Multimoto strives to implement all necessary precautions to preserve the confidentiality and security of collected and processed personal data, preventing them from being distorted, damaged, destroyed, or from being accessed by unauthorized third parties.

    Technical and organizational security measures have been developed, especially with regard to information systems. However, we do not control all risks related to the use of the Internet, and we hereby alert you to the existence of possible risks associated with its use and operation, and consequently, the sharing of personal data by this means.
  • 10. Rights of the holder of personal data

    In accordance with current legislation, the holder of personal data has the right to access and rectify their data, as well as the right to request their deletion, oppose their processing and obtain their limitation or portability as far as applicable.


    The exercise of any of the rights legally conferred by the respective holder must be done by means of a letter (or email) signed by the holder and accompanied by a photocopy of an identity document bearing the signature of the holder exercising his or her right.

    The holder of personal data should bear in mind that, in certain cases (such as legal imperatives) his request may not be immediately satisfied. In any case, will be informed of the measures taken in this sense, within a maximum period of one month from the moment in which the request is made.


    The holder of personal data may also withdraw his consent at any time, where applicable, through the channels provided for this purpose by Multimoto. However, the withdrawal of consent does not compromise the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent previously given nor the subsequent processing of the same data, based on another legal basis, such as the fulfillment of the contract or legal obligation to which Multimoto is subject.

  • 11. Right to file a complaint

    For any question regarding the collection and processing of data by Multimoto, the data subject may contact by email the data controller at the email address tratamentodedados@multimoto.pt.


    You can also file a complaint with the National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD), R. de São Bento 148, 1200-031 Lisbon, about the way Multimoto collects and processes personal data.

  • 12. Use of Cookies

    As already mentioned, Multimoto collects and processes the personal data required to provide and operate its website, while ensuring, however, adequate levels of security and protection of its users' personal data. To this end, a number of physical, logical, technical and organizational security measures have been adopted in order to protect personal data against disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized processing or access, as well as against any other form of unlawful processing.


    Despite the security measures adopted by Multimoto, the user must keep the access codes secret, not sharing them with third parties, and must also follow the recommended security practices, namely regarding the installation and updating of the necessary security applications, namely antivirus.


    Multimoto uses cookies on its website, considered as such, small text files with relevant information that the access device (computer, mobile/smartphone or tablet) loads, through the internet browser, when a website is visited by the user. The cookies used by Multimoto improve the performance and browsing experience of its users, increasing, on the one hand, the speed and efficiency of response and, on the other, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter the same information.


    Placing cookies not only helps the site to recognize the user's device the next time the user visits it, but is also essential for the site's operation. The cookies used on the website by Multimoto, do not collect personal information to identify the user, keeping only generic information, namely the way or place/country of access and the way the user uses the website, among others.

  • 13. Cookies used by Multimoto

    Multimoto uses different types of cookies, as follows:
    (I): Essential Cookies - some cookies are essential to access specific areas of Multimoto's website, allowing navigation and use of its applications, such as access to secure areas of the website, through login. Without these cookies, services that require it cannot be provided;
    (II): Functionality cookies - functionality cookies allow to remember the user's preferences regarding the navigation on the website, thus not needing to reconfigure and personalize it every time you visit;
    (III): Analytical cookies - These cookies are used to analyze how the user uses the site, allowing to highlight articles or services that may be of interest to them, and to monitor the performance of the site by knowing which pages are most popular, which method of linking between pages is most effective, or to determine why some pages are receiving error messages. Thus, Multimoto can provide a high quality experience by customizing its offer and quickly identify and correct any problems that arise.


    Also regarding the validity there are two types of cookies:
    (I): Permanent cookies - these are cookies that are stored in the access devices (computer, cell phone, smartphone or tablet), at the level of the internet browser (browser), and are used whenever the user visits Multimoto's website again. In general, they are used to direct navigation according to the user's interests, allowing Multimoto to provide a more personalized service;
    (II): Session cookies - these are temporary cookies, which are generated and are available until the session is closed. The next time the user accesses his internet browser, the cookies will no longer be stored. The information obtained allows managing sessions, identifying problems and providing a better browsing experience.

    Multimoto may also use cookies when opening newsletters/emails, for statistical purposes, and that allow to know if they are opened and to verify the clicks through links or ads inside the newsletter.
